Plan payment risk for England and Wales bank holidays.
HolidayOps uses England and Wales bank holidays for its United Kingdom market entry. A supplier invoice, agency payout or inventory payment involving that market needs both countries' calendars and the provider's actual deadline. HolidayOps connects the business object to a saved route, supported holiday-risk window, reminder and action. It is an AI operations workspace for preparation and follow-through, rather than a bank-transfer service.

Direct answer
Which UK calendar should payment teams use?
Match the calendar to the operation being planned. This page covers England and Wales; Scotland and Northern Ireland have separate GOV.UK lists and are not represented by this date set. Identify the sending and receiving banks, the service and the required arrival date. Check the relevant regional dates with the provider, then save a route reminder before its confirmed cutoff. A UK label alone is not enough to choose the correct regional calendar.

Official coverage and substitute days
The dates below come from the England and Wales division of the GOV.UK bank holidays feed. The maintained reference contains official dates through 2028 and was checked on 20 August 2026. A substitute weekday can matter more than the nominal weekend holiday date when planning approval or receipt checks. Preserve the official substitute-day label. The calendar does not determine an individual provider's availability, the bank's submission cutoff or an employee's leave entitlement; confirm those facts with the appropriate operator.
Example: a supplier payment over Christmas 2026
GOV.UK lists Friday 25 December 2026 as Christmas Day and Monday 28 December as the Boxing Day substitute bank holiday in England and Wales. Suppose a Hong Kong buyer needs an England-based supplier to confirm funds before dispatching stock. Treat the holiday and intervening weekend as a window requiring confirmation. Ask when the provider can submit and process the payment, and when the supplier can confirm receipt. This is an illustrative planning example, not a guaranteed delay length or a customer case study.
- Business object: the inventory payment that gates a supplier's stock release.
- Countries: Hong Kong sending side and the England/Wales receiving operation.
- Risk and action: the dispatch promise depends on unconfirmed receipt; agree a provider deadline and supplier handoff before committing.
Create the operation in HolidayOps
Start a project for the supplier operation, add the Hong Kong -> United Kingdom route and select the payment service actually used. Review the country dates and supported risk windows in Calendar and Watchlist. Save a reminder to obtain bank and supplier confirmation, then an action point for the dispatch update. Record the invoice reference, relevant region, required arrival date and confirmed time zone in the operational note. The project retains the route and Activity history so a later handoff explains why the action exists.
Keep regional and provider uncertainty visible
If the receiving operation is in Scotland or Northern Ireland, use its official regional calendar and confirm its effect with the provider instead of treating this date set as complete coverage. The HolidayOps Agent can analyze supported route risk and prepare reminders or reviewed drafts. Inspect those results and send any supplier message yourself. The workspace does not connect to the supplier's bank account, execute transfers or infer an exact arrival date from a public holiday. An unresolved regional schedule or cutoff remains a confirmation task.
